As the Philippines gradually eases into what could be called the “new normal” of everyday life, the government declares the National Capital Region, as well as the rest of the country under general community quarantine (GCQ). Businesses including automotive dealerships are now allowed to resume operations, albeit following the guidelines set under GCQ that aims to minimize the further spread of a still-ongoing pandemic.
To celebrate the resumption of operations of all its 9 dealers and to welcome its customers, Volkswagen Philippines offers discounts on purchases of the VW Santana subcompact sedan and VW Lavida compact sedan, effective from now until June 30, 2020.
Volkswagen PH dealers will be offering discounts on the following Santana variants: P15,000 off on the 1.5 MPI AT SE; P66,000 off on the 1.4 MPI MT, and; P90,000 off on the 1.5 MPI AT S. Meanwhile, the Lavida 1.4 TSI DSG SE will be offered with a P85,000 discount.

Then VW Santana MPI MT is powered by a 1.4-liter Multi-Point Injection (MPI) 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, with a maximum power output of 90 Ps at 5,500rpm and maximum torque of 132 Nm at 3,800rpm. On the other hand, the VW Santana 180 MPI AT S and SE variants offer more power with its 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, in-line petrol engine with BlueMotion Technology mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission generating a maximum power output of 110 Ps at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 150 Nm at 4,000rpm.
For ride comfort and stability, the VW Santana variants feature electronic power steering, front McPherson Independent Suspension, safety cage (front and rear crumple zones), and rear composite torsion beam semi-independent suspension. Safety highlights include standard ISOFIX anchorage points (mounting fixture for two child seats on rear seat bench), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), immobilizer, and front dual airbags.
The VW Santana AT standard features are 15” alloy wheels, Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) while SE variant added amenities are rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, rear Park Distance Control (PDC), multifunction steering wheel and front side airbags.
The VW Santana is the ideal first Volkswagen sedan for young families, young professionals, and for frontliners who need to go on in-city and out-of-town trips either in performance of their duties, or to reconnect with loved ones whom they have not seen for some time due to the extended quarantines and heavy workloads. With the longest wheelbase in its class, the Santana’s generous interior space allows for proper physical distancing among occupants.
|VW Lavida 230 TSI DSG SE|
On the other hand, the VW Lavida 230 TSI DSG SE is equipped with a 1.4-liter, 4-cylinder Turbo Fuel-Injected petrol engine with BlueMotion Technology mated to a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission, capable of 130 Ps of power at 5,000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque at 1,400 to 3,500 rpm. The interior features and comfort amenities include leather seat material, cruise control, Climatronic air conditioning, Push Start, and sunroof. Safety highlights include front dual and side airbags, the ESP with Brake Assist, Electronic Differential Lock, Anti Slip Regulation (ASR), Hill Hold Control, and front and rear PDC.
The VW Lavida is the ideal sedan for corporate managers who value the safety and comfort of every member of their families, yet still seek that power and passion in their drive, both behind the wheel and their office desk, whether the office is in the home or at the corporate address.
The warranty coverage for these models are comprehensive. Aside from the 3 years or 100,000-km general warranty (whichever comes first), the periodic maintenance service (PMS) interval schedule is also structured for its owners’ convenience. The PMS interval is once a year, or every 10,000 kms (whichever comes first). This is more convenient and more cost-efficient compared to the industry-standard 5,000-km PMS interval. In addition, all Volkswagen vehicle purchases automatically register the owner to the 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) that provides that added layer of security, safety, and peace of mind in the event of accidents or vehicle breakdowns.
These are all the more tempting reasons for more Filipinos to opt for the motoring lifestyle that only Volkswagen can offer, the motoring lifestyle that moves you into the “new normal” of car ownership and maintenance in the safest, most efficient and most convenient manner.
In-dealer safety and convenience are also maintained in the new order of business at all Volkswagen dealerships, with consistent disinfection processes maintained, and proper physical distancing, hygienic practices, and wearing of personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves strictly enforced, on top of the 50% operating capacity of all showrooms and service bays to comply with government health protocols.
