MG Philippines Hosts Hybrid Experience Drive for Bank Partners | Monchster Chronicles

MG Philippines recently held the MG Hybrid Experience Drive, an exclusive event for its bank partners that showcased the cutting-edge hybrid technology of the All-New MG ZS Hybrid+ and New MG3 Hybrid+, along with MG Pilot, the brand’s advanced driver-assistance system.

The drive gathered 40 bank officers from some of the country’s most trusted financial institutions, including (in alphabetical order): Banco de Oro Unibank (BDO), Bank of China (BOC), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), China Bank Savings, China Banking Corporation, EastWest Bank (EWB), Maybank, Philippine National Bank (PNB), Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Philtrust Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Security Bank Corporation (SBC), and Sterling Bank of Asia.

The day began at MG Greenhills, where guests enjoyed breakfast while the MG Philippines team introduced them to the brand’s latest hybrid technology and its advanced driver-assistance system, MG Pilot. At 9:30 a.m., the convoy set off to EDSA, cruising smoothly along the Skyway and SLEX, taking the open stretches of CALAX, and finally climbing the scenic uphill roads of Tagaytay to Sinta Restaurant. This mix of city congestion, highway cruising, and uphill roads gave participants a true picture of how MG’s hybrids perform in real-world Filipino driving conditions.

Upon arriving at Sinta, participants were welcomed into a sanctuary-themed restaurant and mini-museum adorned with pieces created by nine National Artists. Nestled on the quieter side of Tagaytay with sweeping views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, the venue offered an inspiring backdrop of culture, art, and nature. The venue, exclusively for MG, set the stage for a private and memorable experience.

The culinary highlight came courtesy of multi-awarded international chef Ariel Manuel, who has earned recognition in Europe, America, and Asia. For this occasion, Chef Ariel personally curated an MG-exclusive welcome drink and a four-course meal, even taking the time to describe each dish before it was served. This thoughtful touch not only elevated the dining experience but also underscored the importance MG Philippines gives to its partners.

A key highlight of the event was the fuel economy challenge, where the guests themselves engaged and witnessed how efficient MG hybrids can be under realistic conditions. Leading the pack was the Security Bank team, composed of Mr. Allan Remis, Mr. Darryl Panado, Mr. Alex Joseph Lopez, and Ms. Riza Mae Macam, who proved that the MG ZS Hybrid+ can deliver an outstanding 25.6 km/L even with traffic challenges along the way. Close behind was the Bank of the Philippine Islands team with 23.8 km/L in the MG ZS Hybrid+, followed by EastWest Bank,
achieving 20.8 km/L in the MG3 Hybrid+.

These results highlighted not only the efficiency of MG’s hybrid lineup but also their ability to adapt seamlessly to the realities of daily driving in the Philippines. With fuel economy figures well above the segment norm, the MG ZS Hybrid+ and MG3 Hybrid+ prove that hybrids can deliver real savings at the pump while promoting more environmentally friendly mobility.

The event also gave participants a chance to experience MG Pilot, the brand’s advanced driver-assistance system. Features such as Lane Departure Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Speed Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Traffic Jam Assist were demonstrated, showing how MG’s latest technology prioritizes safer and more confident drives.

Beyond the drive, the MG Hybrid Experience Drive also served as a platform to strengthen partnerships with the banking sector. MG Philippines is working closely with its bank partners to make hybrid mobility more accessible to everyone through faster loan approvals, attractive financing programs, and in-branch visibility.

By combining innovative hybrid technology with strong industry collaboration, MG Philippines is paving the way for a smarter, greener, and more practical driving experience for the modern Filipino.
